EVANS, John (American, 1932 - 2012). Three Collages From 1990: 27 Fev., 10 Mai, and 22 Sep. Mixed media collage on paper. Each 8 1/2 by 11".
Evans was an American artist known for his collages made from found materials in New York's East Village. From 1964 to 2000, he created one collage each day on 8 1/2 by 11" painted paper, using items like business cards and ticket stubs. His work reflects significant events such as the end of the Vietnam War and the AIDS crisis, serving as an autobiographical visual diary stamped with the date.
