FAULKNER, William (1897?1962). Soldier?s Pay. New York: Boni and Liveright, 1926. 8vo. Original dark blue cloth lettered in yellow, decorative endpapers (some discoloration to upper cover near fore edge, slight rubbing to spine stamping). Provenance: L.B. Carle (ownership signature dated 1926 on half?title, rubber stamps to several textual pages). FIRST EDITION of Faulkner?s rare first novel that was recommended for publishing by Sherwood Anderson whom Faulkner frequently and publicly expressed his gratitude. Petersen A2a.
