[FOLK ART]. Brotherhood of the Union Ark. Circa 1850s. Carved and hand painted wood. Lid opens with lock and key, nothing inside. Brotherhood of the Union, later the Brotherhood of America, was a secret society founded in 1850s by American writer and social activist George Lippard to promote American nationalist ideals and social reform. It disbanded in the late 20th century. Surface dirt, wear, scratches, paint loss, and wood chips. Overall good condition. 10 ? x 18 x 11".
