- Lot Description
[FOLK ART CAROUSEL ANIMAL]. Carousel Dog. [Brooklyn: Edward Buff for Charles I. D. Looff, ca. late nineteenth century]. Hand-painted and carved wooden dog with metal parts for stirrups and halter (halter and stirrups missing). Approximately 63 x 12 ? x 30?. With a hole for a carousel pole in front of the saddle. Tail has been replaced at a later time. Back of seat has wood loss at back edge of seat. The usual wear and scuffing due to use and age. Overall good condition. Dog has been tentatively identified as a Flat-Coated Retriever. Third-party shipping required.
