[Crime?Mugshots] Folsom Prison Mugshot Book. 1914-1919. An original prisoner discharge book from Folsom State Prison featuring approximately 1,090 silver gelatin black & white full-face mugshots affixed to each page (5 per page; 218pp.) with accompanying handwritten descriptions (name, term, crime, county, recorded, discharged) next to each inmate photo. Mostly male inmates with the exception of one female (Rosi Marks, 2 years for attempted pandering); several Japanese and African American inmates; a few U.S. Navy personnel. Each photo 3 x 2 ??. Bound in a contemporary linen ?invoice book?. Folio. Covers worn with several tears to cloth, front cover slightly detached, staining or rubbing to extremities, occasional chipping and toning to margins; photographs and text clean.
