FOSTER, Joshua James (1847?1923). The Stuarts? London: Dickinsons, 1907. One volume in 3, 4to. EXTRA? ILLUSTRATED with 178 plates, inserted with additional title?pages and list of illustrations in manuscript prepared by Foster (dated 1920). Contemporary half sheepskin with single gilt fillets, 6 compartments with 5 raised bands, 3 with gilt tooled centerpieces of the Lion of England, remainder lettered in gilt, top edge gilt. Provenance: William Edward Hollis (bookplate). A unique copy extra?illustrated with 18th to 20th century engravings of the royal family.
