Original publisher?s dark blue cloth, gilt?lettered spine; original unclipped dust jacket (light chipping at ends, front panel detached at joint). FIRST AMERICAN EDITION, of Frost's comedic play purportedly modeled after Job chapter 43 (despite the fact that the book of Job only contains 42 chapters). INSCRIBED BY FROST TO HIS STUDENT AT DARTMOUTH WITH TWO LINES OF VERSE: ?*We dance round in a ring and suppose, But the secret sits in the middle and knows / Robert Frost to Don Smith / * By the hour in our class?.
