This is an auction replete with standouts. Works by Magritte, Tamayo, Paschke, Wirsum and multiple mixed media collages and prints from the celebrated Tony Fitzpatrick will cross the block. A significant work by Bill Traylor leads the Outsider Art session, alongside major works by Finster, Yoakum, Dial, Sparrow, and Dawson. Folk art includes a carved grotto Jesus and Devil train set sculpture from Wisconsin, and three oversize leaves by Ivan Albright lead the fine art session. GARRAN, Andrew (1825-1901). Engraver SMEDLEY, William Thomas (1858-1920). Views of Sydney. Circa 1886. Antique hand colored print with views of Sydney: entrance to Botanical Gardens, an Avenue in the Botanical Gardens, Norfolk Island Pine Botanical Gardens, Fraser Drinking Fountain Hyde Park and Central Avenue Hyde Park. This print originates from 'Picturesque Atlas of Australasia' by A. Garran. Smedley was the engraver and another name is associated with the circular image on the print, William Crothers Fitler. Sight 11 x 7 1/2". Frame 17 x 13".
Condition
Not examined out of frame. Paper toned. Overall good condition.
