- Lot Description
[GRATEFUL DEAD / TAPER TAPES]. Large Collection of Grateful Dead Live Shows 1972-79 on Cassette. 1972-1979. Large group of approximately 523 Grateful Dead ?taper tapes? recorded by a longtime follower of the band. Mix of Maxell XL II, Fuji FX-I, TDK, and others. Tapes are primarily from the band?s ?Godchaux era? (1971-1979) when Keith and Donna Godchaux were with the band. Dates range from 7/18/72 to Godchaux?s last show on 2/17/79. With some recordings of Old and in the Way, the Jerry Garcia Band, Van Morrison, and Robert Hunter. Each tape has clear handwritten labels with the concert?s date, venue, and setlist. Not tested. From the Joseph Scovel Grateful Dead Collection.
