GREEN, Jonathan Harrington (1813-1887). An Exposure of the Arts and Miseries of Gambling. Philadelphia: G.B. Zieber & Co., 1847. 8vo. Plates. Publisher?s brown cloth stamped in gilt and blind (lacking head of spine, damp staining). Jonathan Green went from being one of the most skilled card players in the United States to being one of its most ardent persecutors, with this book being the first of four to warn of the dangers of gambling.
