[339], [1, blank] pp. Publisher?s full green cloth, spine lettered in gilt, publisher?s unclipped (no price visible) dust jacket (mild rubbing to binding, corners very lightly bumped, endleaves with minor occasional soiling or creasing; jacket toned (especially at spine) some rubbing, minor soiling to edges). Near fine. FIRST EDITION, WITH A SLIP SIGNED BY GREEN TAPED TO THE FFEP AND WITH A TYPED NOTE SIGNED BY GREENE?S SECRETARY PRESENTING THIS SLIP TO THE RECIPIENT. With the recipient?s (Norma Middleton) signature above the taped slip on the ffep. Slip is now loose. The basis of the film of the same name (1979) directed by Otto Preminger, starring Nicol Williamson, Robert Morley, John Gielgud, Derek Jacobi, and Richard Attenborough. It was Preminger?s last film.
