HAWTHORNE, Nathaniel (1804-1864). Cut signature (?Nathaniel Hawthorne?). On paper slip, displayed with portrait engraving of the author by Gustav Kruell. (Slip a bit toned). Framed and matted, overall 18 ? x 15 ??. The author of The Scarlet Letter and The House of the Seven Gables, Nathaniel Hawthorne was one of the most significant authors in American history.
