  [HERALDIC BINDING]. [Jean-Antoine] L?Abbe Nollet (1700-1770) and COMPANS, [Jean]. Lecons de Physique Exp?rimentale; Nouvelle ?dition [and] Histoire de la Vie de J?sus-Christ? Paris: Durand [and] Cailleau et al., 1784, 1786. 12mos. Lecons illustrated with engraved frontispiece and numerous fold-out plates. Lecons is 6 volumes, Histoire is 2 volumes. 8 total volumes. Approximately 6 ? x 3 ??. Uniformly bound in a contemporary full light brown calf, boards triple-ruled in gilt, floral cornerpieces, spine elaborately tooled in gilt, with red and blue gilt morocco lettering labels, gilt edges, marbled endleaves, front boards with a noble (royal?) heraldic stamp in gilt with an ?L R? surrounded by laurel leaves beneath a crown, rear boards stamped in gilt with a horseshoe and cross motif surrounded by laurel leaves beneath a crown (binding worn, occasionally soiled, volume VI is dampstained). Very good.
