Human Torch #2 (#1) Recil Macon Pedigree (Timely Comics, 1940) CGC VF 8.0 White pages. World War II cover art by Alex Schomburg, more than a year before the U.S. would enter the war. Contains the first appearance of the title character?s sidekick, Toro, along with the origins of both the Human Torch and Sub-Mariner (who recently appeared in the 2022 film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever). Toro was one of the first mutant superheroes. The Falcon and the Fiery Mask both make their last appearances. This issue is currently tied for #45 on Overstreet?s list of Top 100 Golden Age Comics. CGC census 5/23: 10 in 8.0, 9 higher. A rare pedigree.
