A Series of Etchings with Ground-Plans and Facsimiles of Hollar's Views, of The Cathedrals and Conventual Churches... London: James Bohn, 1842. Folios. Illustrated with 2 frontispieces and 240 etched plates, some double-page. 2 volumes. [iv]; [iv] pp. Approximately 18 x 11 1/4". Contemporary half black straight-grain morcocco over brown marbled boards, spines ruled and lettered in gilt in compartments, five raised bands, marbled endleaves.
Condition
Bindings worn and somewhat scuffed, text and plates foxed with marginal toning, Contents leaf of volume II supplied in later facsimile. Very good. FIRST EDITION. Wonderful architectural views and plans of churches and cathedrals.
