- Lot Description
[Chicago] Iroquois Theatre Souvenir Program. Chicago: Press of Rand, McNally & Co., dated November 23, 1903. Brick cloth stamped in gilt, a.e.g. Illustrated. 8vo. Corners bumped and rubbed, slight soiling to extremities, pencil inscription to front pastedown. This copy was published only a month prior to the tragic fire that claimed over 600 lives on December 30th, 1903. The book details the ornate designs of the theatre including its grand curtains (made of asbestos) and rich woods that made this the grandest American theatre at the time but also the most dangerous.
