Johann Petursson Group of Ephemera, Including Giant Sock. Circa 1940s/50s. Thirty-six pieces, including one of Petursson?s giant socks; a stack of real photo and linen postcards, photos, and pitch cards (one signed on verso); pictorial envelopes; and a single sheet of extra ?tall? personal stationery. Of these, two giant postcards, one souvenir card, and one postcard are signed by Petursson. Very good overall.Known as the ?Icelandic Giant? and ?The Viking Giant,? Petursson stood 7 feet 6 inches tall and performed in circuses around the world, including for Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey.
