John Milton Hay: Autograph Letter Signed (ALS). 4 1/4" x 7", 1pg., December 14, 1897, American Embassy, London. A request for an autograph. American Diplomat, Assistant to Abraham Lincoln, and Secretary of State Under Presidents McKinley and Theodore Roosevelt. (Hay was appointed U. S. Ambassador to Great Britain by McKinley in 1897). Comes with a 14" x 20" facsimile of the Declaration of Independence signed in type by Hay at the bottom right.
Condition
Mild toning, tipped to a large sheet. Overall fine.
