[KENT, Rockwell (1882-1971)]. Salamina hand?tinted plate. Vernon, CA: Vernon Kilns, 1935. A woman kneels amongst the mountains with both hands raised, one clutching a fistful of flowers. Diam. 9 ??. Salamina was an Eskimo woman who served as Rockwell Kent?s housekeeper during his sojourns in Greenland during the early 1930s, and of whom Kent once wrote, ?Salamina was the...most altogether captivating of all women of North Greenland.?
