Large Brass Handkerchief Globe. European, ca. 1890. A borrowed handkerchief is placed in the vase and set on fire; the lid is clamped on to extinguish the flames. When removed, the fabric is shown to be whole and unblemished. A handsome and large example spun from brass. Height 12".
