FANTASTIC BEASTS.[LEARNED ANIMALS]. La M?nagerie Comique ou les B?tes Savants. Paris: Rosselin, (1844). Oblong 8vo. 24pp plus cover. Twenty-four finely rendered black-and-white lithographs depicting learned and exceptional animals, among them tightrope walking monkeys, sapient pigs, a drum-playing rabbit, truffle-finding pigs, a soldier dog, trained birds (and the magician exhibiting them), and other incredible beasts. Foxed, crude tape repair to cover. Scarce.
