Hand-colored satirical etching depicting the learned dog, Carlo, carrying a basket of ?raw materials for new subjects? to a playwright at the behest of his master. The broadsheet in the scribe?s hand includes the line, ?Due notice will be given of Mr. Carlo?s next performance.? 9? ? 13?". One clipped corner, else bright and attractive.
