Illustrated with 12 fine photogravure plates in two states, 220 in-text drawings, all by Maurice Leloir. 2 title pages - one printed in black and red, the other in printed fine chromolithography. 212 pp. Approximately 14 ? x 11 ? ?. Beautifully bound in nineteenth-century French half black levant morocco over marbled boards, brown and burgundy gilt morocco lettering labels, spine stamped in gilt, top edge gilt, marbled endleaves (rebacked to style, preserving most of the original spine - lower portion of spine is from the later rebacking, some color correction to binding, some minor rubbing to binding). Fine. RARE FIRST LIMITED EDITION, EDITION DE GRAND LUXE, #84 OF 100 COPIES ON JAPON PAPER. WITH AN ORIGINAL WATERCOLOR SIGNED AND DATED (?1884?) BY LELOIR ON THE HALF-TITLE.
