[LINCOLN, Abraham (1809-1865), subject]. BEVERIDGE, Albert, J. (1862-1927). Abraham Lincoln 1809-1858. Boston and New York: Houghton Mifflin Company, 1928. 8vos. Each volume illustrated with color frontispiece and black and white frontispiece portrait, and illustrations throughout. 4 volumes. Bound by the Riverside Press in the original three-quarter burgundy levant morocco over red cloth boards, spines paneled and lettered in gilt in compartments, five raised bands, top edges gilt (some wear to joints, spines a bit darkened (especially volume IV), some edgewear, later endleaves. Very good. MANUSCRIPT EDITION, #214/1,000, WITH A MANUSCRIPT LEAF BY BEVERIDGE IN PENCIL. Laid-in are 2 bookplates of collector James M. Kemper.
