[MAPS AND PRINTS]. [WASHINGTON, George (1732-1799) and?WASHINGTON, Martha (1731-1802), subjects]. [HENNING, A., after].?Mount Vernon in the Olden Time.?Washington?at 30 Years of Age.?New York: Published and Engraved Under the Superintendence of the Artists Association; Engraved by H. B. Hall, [1856]. Large hand-colored plate depicting a youthful?Washington?in hunting garb and Martha?Washington?and her two children (Martha is serving drinks on a tray). Also depicted in this print are a man with musket standing behind?Washington, two African-American servants (most likely slaves), 3 hunting dogs, a dead stag on a scale, and several dead ducks and other animals on the floor. Captioned. Sight approximately 21 x 25 ??. Matted and framed under plexiglass. Frame size approximately 31 ? x 35 ??. Print is somewhat toned and soiled, with numerous marginal tears, lower right corner chipped. Very good. A scarce print, rarely found colored. Not examined out of frame. Measurements: 31 ? x 35 ? x 2?.
