MCPHAIL, David. Inscribed Drawing for Bubblegum Delicious by Dennis Lee. May 27, 2000. Pen and ink on paper. Drawing of a child riding an elephant, elephant with a grasshopper blowing a bubble, surrounded by an inscription by McPhail: ?Dear Bob, I?m cleaning my studio - (a rare happening) - I came upon a package of books (enclosed) that you had sent to me last year. [Drawing] Sorry about that. But here (at last) they are. Best regards, David McPhail P. S. This is/was a drawing for a book of poems by Dennis Lee called Bubblegum Delicious, to be published Fall of 2000 by Key Porter Books, Toronto Canada-?. Sight approximately 13 ? x 9 ??. Matted and framed together under plexiglass. Frame size approximately 18 x 13 ??. Fine. Not examined out of frame. With an copy of the book with an inscribed bookplate. From the J. Robert and Alice Dornish Collection of Autographed Picture Books and Original Art.
