Minstrel Show Stock Poster. Hartford: Calhoun Print Co., ca. 1885. Wood engraved poster in color advertising the appearance of a minstrel show, the all white cast and band flanked by four blackface characters playing tambourines and castanets. 29 ? x 42?. Chartex backing with wooden batten at top for hanging. Considerably chipped and worn; sold as-is. Scarce. From the collection of David Beach. A curious minstrel show poster in that only four of the performers depicted are in blackface.
