MITCHELL, Margaret (a. k. a. MARSH, Margaret Mitchell (1900-1949)). Typed Note Signed with Signed Mailing Envelope. Atlanta, August 27, 1941. Two typed 12mo pages on one folding 8vo leaf. Addressed ?Dear Mrs. Hull:" and signed ?Margaret Mitchell Marsh". Each page approximately 5 x 4". Light rubbing, toning, small ink blot near signature. Fine. ?Thank you so much for sending me the Christian Science Monitor containing the splendid article on Southern letters by John Drewry. You were right in thinking it would interest me? Thank you for what you wrote about ?Gone With the Wind." I appreciate it so much. Cordially, [signature] Margaret Mitchell Marsh (Mrs. John R. Marsh)". With the original typed mailing envelope addressed to ?Mrs. Madge Hull". Signed ?Margaret Mitchell" on verso. With stamps, ink cancels. Opened at top margin, some soiling, wear. With Mitchell's typed return address on verso. Approximately 4 x 5". Very good. A warm letter from the author of one of the best-selling American novels of the 20th century, and the winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 1937. Of course, this novel is the basis of the 1939 classic film of the same name. Measurements: 6"L x 5"W x 1"H.
