- Lot Description
[MODEL - SHIP IN A BOTTLE]. ?Annie Hughes" Three-Masted Schooner Ship-in-a-Bottle Model. [N.p., n.d., ca. 20th century]. Hand-made painted model of a schooner in a clear glass bottle, with rigging and hand-made flags (one flag has the ship's name painted on it). Ship's size approximately 7 ? x 2 ? x 4"; total size of model, glass bottle and wooden display, approximately 12 x 5 ? x 12". Ship in a glass bottle in a hand-made wooden stand with decorative birds at top and cork in bottle opening (wooden stand has later glue repairs to upper portion of supports, some minor soiling visible (glue residue?) to the bottom of the ship's hull, some minor occasional rubbing). Fine. It is unknown who the builder was, but it came from the collection of a knowledgeable collector of such models. Customer pick-up or third party shipping required.
