Muddy Waters Signed Album. ?Unk? in Funk. Chess Records, 1974. Inscribed, ?To Jay / Muddy Waters? on front cover. From the collection of Jay B. Ross. Jay B. Ross?s association with Muddy Waters began in 1969, when Waters hired him as his first lawyer. For the next fourteen years Ross would represent him, and in the process the two would develop a close friendship, with Waters making a point of gifting his lawyer with signed copies of each of his latest albums.
