Mummified Head of the Bandit ?Tic? in Case. 20th century. Realistic mummified head display, made of clay, with apparently real human teeth, mounted on a brass stand. Brass plate on front reads ?TIC?. Case marked as the head of ?the Bandit Tic?, with a label on verso reading; ?responsible for two years (1899-1901) of terror and depradation in the colony before his slaying by officer P. Hornburg in a botched raid on the Friendly Hotel. His severed head was preserved in saltpeter and was long displayed in the officer?s club in New Delhi before coming into our possession.?
