[NEWSPAPERS[. [DICKINSON, John (1732-1808), subject]. The Pennsylvania Chronicle and Universal Advertiser. Vol. 1 No. 46. Philadelphia: Nov. 30-Dec. 2, 1767. 2pp. 18.5 X 11.5". "LETTERS FROM A FARMER IN PENNSYLVANIA TO THE INHABITANTS OF THE BRITISH COLONIES" P.1. The first appearance of the first of John Dickinson's pseudonymous "Letters From a Farmer in Pennsylvania." The eventual 12 letters, circulated widely throughout the colonies, would be instrumental in mobilizing support against the Townshend Acts leading up to the Revolutionary War.
Condition
Toning and soiling. Large dampstain at left with spot at lower right. Chipping from possible debinding. Lower right corner and margin torn. Three horizontal creases. Writing in ink at left margin. Good.
