Condition
Worn, soiled (some dampstaining), one vertical and one horizontal crease, stab-holes at left margin. Very good. ON P. 3, A REVIEW AND AN AD FOR "RICKETTS'S CIRCUS," THE FIRST CIRCUS IN THE UNITED STATES; DESCRIBING JEAN-PIERRE BLANCHARD'S FIRST BALLOON ASCENT IN THE UNITED STATES (AT RICKETTS'S). An ad for Ricketts's Circus is also on this page. Further down the page is a story describing a birthday dinner for King George III which was held at Philadelphia's historic City Tavern. Various toasts were made, including one honoring President George Washington (who was apparently not there). In previous years, this tavern was the unofficial seat of government where the Founding Fathers frequently met, including Washington.
