[NEWSPAPERS]. [TRANSCONTINENTAL RAILROAD]. San Francisco Evening Bulletin. February 20, 1866-December 31, 1866. Elephant folio. 314 issues of this daily newspaper, plus the January 2, 1866 issue is laid-in. Each issue is 4pp. Approximately 27 1/4 x 20". Bound in one volume in contemporary half red morocco over marbled boards, spine stamped in gilt.
Condition
Binding heavily worn, boards loose, text toned, several issues torn and brittle. Fair. An excellent look at local news and happenings in post-Civil War California and the west, with information about the construction of the Western Terminus of the Transcontinental Railroad, as well as other stories of local interest.
