[Olympics] 1928 Olympics Souvenir Playing Cards. Altenburg in Thuringen: Vereinigte Straslunder Spielkartenfabriken A.-G., 1928. 52 + OB. Designed by ?Pix? (Otto Pech). Courts and aces with color lithographed illustrations of male and female athletes for summer and winter Olympic sports. Publisher?s credits on 7H. Very good. Keller GER 596. The box calls for 53 cards, but no joker is present. The piquet deck in the Cary Collection cited above consists of 32 cards (A, K, Q, K, 7-10). Notably, the cards numbered 2-6 on this deck have gilt edges while the others do not, suggesting there were at least two issues of the deck, and that the present example is made up from two different printings.
