Original Fa-Ko Trick Deck and Printing Blocks. Columbus, OH: S.W. Reilly Co., ca. 1927. The original assorted pack of specially-printed cards as released by Reilly, including double-ended, double-face, blank face, blank back, and other gaffed cards, with the original box and printed instructions. Sold together with the copper and zinc printing blocks for the cards, the box, and the advertisement used to publicize the cards, as well as several later printing plates for jumbo cards.
Syl Reilly founded the Columbus Magi-Fest, and was a dealer who specialized in props and accessories for mentalists, ghost shows, and the like. He would eventually sell his business to Robert Nelson, who carried on using the Reilly swami figure featured on these Fa-Ko cards and the box. The Fa-Ko deck concept - a collection of specially printed cards sold as a single deck for use by magicians - was eventually carried on, using the same name, by Haines House of Cards, a Cincinnati-based business that specialized in the manufacture of playing cards of all kinds.
