London: Longman, Hurst, Rees and Orne, 1808. 4to (267 x 210 mm). 2 hand?tinted aquatints with sepia wash (light marginal browning, offsetting to title?page from frontispiece). Original diced calf, all edges marbled, marbled endpapers (retrospective rebacking preserving original morocco lettering?piece gilt, marginal browning or spotting). Provenance: John Waldie (bookplate). FIRST EDITION, Parson?s detailed journal, published posthumously, includes accounts of the merchants and commerce of the places he visited, including Bahrein, Muscat, Mocha and Jeddah? mentioning the importance of the latter as the port for Mecca.
