- Lot Description
[PHOTOGRAPHY]. A pair of photo albums featuring Jeremy Brett as Sherlock Holmes or in various stage roles. [England: 1964, ca. 1980s]. Including a photo album of 80 color behind-the-scenes photos of Brett as Holmes and Edward Hardwicke (1932-2011) as Watson. Photos approximately 5 x 3 ??. Photos include portraits of Brett and Hardwicke in costume, various facades or photos of sets, numerous photos of crewmembers, and more. Album bound in glossy printed boards (some wear, photos very slightly toned). -- An album of 22 color photos of Brett on stage in various plays, or posing with other people (including Lillian Gish and Lauren Bacall). Photos approximately 5 x 7?. Ten photos appear to be from The Deputy (1964) and four are from Variations on a Theme (1964) with Margaret Leighton. The first blank page is inscribed for Brett by ?Arnold? (possibly Victor Arnold who had a small role in The Deputy): ?For November 3, 1964 To Jeremy-An admiring and affectionate remembrance from Arnold?. Album lacking covers, spine worn, album leaves toned, minor toning to photos. These albums come from the estate of Jeremy Brett.
