- Lot Description
Potato Eater Automaton. Paris: JAF. Automaton of seated figure with cloth shirt sitting at a table. With realistic hair. When plugged in, (later) motor turns on (there is a modern transformer attached to electrical system), but figure does not seem to move. Apparently figure is designed to eat small "potatoes" (included) which recycle through the figure's head to a moving platform beneath the table, thus the figure should continuously "eating." Approximately 32 x 24 x 27". With a silken cloth supplied with the figure, intended to cover the mechanism. Mechanism requires adjustment or repair. With "JAF" plaque at lower right of base.
Condition
Some wear, soiling, mechanism needs adjustment or repair. Good.
