RAYMOND (Maurice Raymond, 1877 ? 1948). The Great Raymond Signed and Annotated Theatre Contract. Dated January 1st, 1925 the contract is ?between the Bolton Theatre? and ?The Great Raymond? stating ?The manager undertakes to produce a company of six turns twice nightly at the Grand Theatre Churchgate Bolton for six nights and one matinee (if required), commencing February 9th, 1925 and terminating February 15th, 1925.? The company is required ?to include the said Gt. Raymond & five other acts.,- including J.J. Wild?s Tippett Co, and Geo. Hurd.? SIGNED at the bottom right by Raymond. Perpendicular typewritten annotations initialed by Raymond stipulating additional agreements ?to take over J.J. Wild?s Tippet Co., and George Hurd? in exchange for 50 pounds. Verso with three additional typewritten stipulations each initialed in ink by Raymond. 13 x 8?. Good overall; original folds; edge wear; toning.
