Woodward and edited by Henry Woodward. FIRST EDITION, FIRST PRINTING. Illustrated with 230 intertextual maps and 24 colored maps, several folding including frontispiece in vol. 1. Contemporary half calf (professionally rebacked with original spines laid down) over marbled boards, raised bands with gilt rolls, elaborate gilt scrollwork in compartments, two morocco spine labels titled in gilt, a.e.m., marbled endpapers (boards rubbed, few spine compartments chipped with restoration; contents clean).
