- Lot Description
ROHMANN, Eric (b. 1957). Preliminary Pencil Sketch of a T. Rex for His Award-Winning Book, Time Flies. 1993. Pencil on paper. With numerous notes and markings by Rohmann. This sketch is the basis of the double page spread on pp. 28-29. Signed with a later (?2008?) signature at bottom right. This sketch is a study of the anatomy, size, etc. of a T. Rex. Sight approximately 12 x 18 ??. Framed under plexiglass. Frame size approximately 14 ? x 20 ??. Fine. This sketch was presented to Dr. J. Robert Dornish by the artist. Time Flies won a Caldecott Honor in 1999. Rohmann would later illustrate the American illustrated version of Pullman?s His Dark Materials trilogy. Not examined out of frame. With an inscribed copy of Time Flies. From the J. Robert and Alice Dornish Collection of Autographed Picture Books and Original Art.
