?Salvation Army Woman with Cape, Bonnet and Tambourine? Marshall Field?s Animatronic Christmas Window Display Figure. Chicago: Marshall Field?s, 1982. Victorian-era large painted plaster figure (?Under the Clock; Figure IV?) of a female Salvation Army volunteer with lined cape, ankle-length dress, lined bonnet and tambourine. On wooden base with motor and plug. 41? high. Motor works, and figure ?beats? her tambourine when plugged in. Minor wear. Fine. From the collection of the Museum of Science and Industry Chicago. This, and the other Marshall Field's Christmas Window display lots were created by Virginia Paxson in collaboration with the legendary New York design/fabrication firm, Spaeth Design.
