Photographic illustrations in color. Original blue leather?backed boards, illustrated endpapers; original mailer. LIMITED EDITION, number 153 of 300 copies SIGNED by the author. This is the first bibliography of works by and about Shirase and the Japanese Antarctic Expedition, containing over 50 publication entries from various countries and is the first book written in English about Shirase in the 100 years since the expedition departed from Tokyo Bay.
