[SIDE SHOW BANNER]. EISMAN, Nieman (European-American). Daughter of Undetermined Sex. [Ca. 1920]. Paint on canvas. Original folk art painted sign for a sideshow act featuring a vertical hermaphrodite. Signed by the artist on the lower right corner. 96 x 120?. With metal rings for hanging at corners. The usual wear due to age and use, some flaking of paint, creases. Eisman was the master of the Chicago-style sideshow and circus banner paintings.
