[STOCK POSTER]. ROCA. Magic Stock Poster. Hamburg: Adolph Friedlander, 1890s. Finely rendered one-sheet poster depicting vignettes from classic magic shows of the Victorian era including devils, a levitation, flower productions, the Miser?s Dream, flag productions, and more. Pictorial banner at top advertising the act of ROCA, one of the Roca Brothers. 37 x 25 ??. Linen backed. Foxed, marginal wear, chips and folds in image; B+.Friedlander used this motif for decades, redesigning the basic poster with varying levels of detail and specificity as time passed. The serial number in the lower left, 359, indicates that this version was printed between 1890 and 1899.
