Partridge, Sir Bernard (1861?1945). Take Up the Sword of Justice. Harrow: David Allen & Sons, ca. 1914. Published by the Parliamentary Recruiting Committee, London. Striking classic World War I-era British recruitment poser depicting Britannia at sea, brandishing a gilded sword, with the sinking of the Lusitania shown in the background. 40 x 25?. Linen backed. Scattered marginal losses, mostly bottom right; repaired closed tear from top margin into first line of text; several short surface tears to left side of image, some with paper loss, not affecting overall appearance. B.
