TARBELL, Harlan (1890-1960). Two Tarbell Lecture Course Window Cards. Chicago, 1940s. One bears a portrait of Tarbell (pasted down), and the other is decorated with a rabbit drawn by Tarbell. Each 22 x 14?. Both with wear, folds, and staining. The latter card with the rubber stamps of C.R. Tracy. has been hand-lettered at the top with the text ?New Magic Class / In the Tent Sat. 2:30pm Enroll Now.? This may refer to a Tarbell appearance at an Abbott?s Get-Together in the 1940s, an event which was chronicled in the Saturday Evening Post and which was a very early ? and possibly the earliest ? magic lecture of its type on record.
