- Lot Description
[TARZAN]. WEISMULLER, Johnny (1904-1984). Signed Collage. [N.p., n.d.]. Collage of 21 cut-out black and white portraits of Weismuller (it is unclear if these portraits are of Weismuller as Tarzan) and a signed slip of paper (slip is at upper left corner). All are mounted onto a sheet of black paper. Sight approximately 13 x 8 ??. Matted and framed under glass. Frame size approximately 18 x 13 ??. Portraits and signed slip are toned. Fine. Weismuller was an Olympic champion swimmer. Upon his retirement from competitive swimming, he starred as Tarzan in 12 films, and remains one of the most popular actors to have played the character. From the collection of fantasy/sci fi collector Greg Phillips.
