New York: LOOK Magazine, May 4, 1954. 10 pages (2 pp. editor?s notes) regarding the two plane crashes in which Hemingway and his wife, Mary, were involved, and in which preliminary reports indicated that they had been killed. Housed in original gray card portfolio stamped ?Advance Press Sheets? and with printed titling (A Hemingway ?First?: Born of the Strange Pleasures of Reading Your Own Obituaries?). Illustrated with black & white photographs by Earl Theisen. 14 x 10 ??. Light edge creasing to folio, small staple marking and closed to tear to upper cover edge, faint stain to rear cover; contents fine. Scarce. Hanneman C381; Hanneman S-A14a-14b. The first appearance of Hemingway?s account of the plane crashes.
